Final Programme and Abstracts

The final programme and abstracts will be published online prior to the congress on this website. Abstracts will be published in the abstract book, as a supplement of the WFSBP World Journal. Delegates have the option to use the undefinedprint on demand service which has been installed. 

Congress Language

The official language of the WFSBP Congress 2009 is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

Disclosure Declaration

Abstract authors were asked to fill in a declaration of interest form. A list containing this information can be viewed upon request at the registration counter.

Certificate of Attendance

Certificates of attendance will be handed out upon demand at the registration counter.

Concierge Booth at Palais des Congrès

A concierge booth will be located close to the registration counter and will
be open during the exhibition times of the congress.

Speakers Center

The speakers center is located in the foyer of level 2 of the Palais des Congrès. Speakers are asked to hand in their CD ROM or USB stick, containing the PowerPoint presentation (IBM format or compatible, no multisession) preferably one day before but at the latest 90 minutes prior to the presentation. The presentation will be transferred to the central congress server and will be available afterwards on a special congress notebook in the hall of the presentation. Due to time and technical reasons we kindly ask the speakers not
to use their own notebook. Several PC working stations are provided in the speakers center where speakers can also work on their PC charts in a quiet area. Technical staff will be glad to assist.

Poster Exhibition

Posters will be displayed from Sunday, 28 June to Thursday, 2 July 2009 in the foyers nearby the technical exhibition on level 2 of the Palais des Congrès. Posters are sorted by topic and grouped into 51 Guided Poster Tours. Posters will be changed daily. Guided Poster Tours take place daily from Sunday, 28 June June until Thursday, 2 July between 12.30 - 14.00 h.  Please click undefinedhere for detailed poster times and recommendations for presentation.

Poster Awards

All posters will be evaluated on site by the WFSBP Prize Committee. The 10 best posters of young investigators under 40 years will be awarded with a poster prize. The awards will be handed out during the closing ceremony on Thursday, 2 July 2009.

Currency

French currency is EURO. Credit cards are fitly accepted.

Insurance

Please note that the congress fee does not include insurance. All participants should arrange for their own insurance. Health and accident insurance is strongly recommended and needs to be purchased in the country of origin.

Climate

Paris climate is relatively mild. In June / July, the average temperature is 23° C during the day. Fluctuation between day and night temperatures is about 10° C. Rain is quite rare in these months.

Snack Bar

The congress provides a snackbar in the exhibition area on level 2 of the Palais des Congrès. Beverages and snacks can be purchased there. Furthermore, various restaurants and shopping possibilities are avaiable in the basement
of the congress venue.

Cloakroom

A cloakroom can be used free of charge on level 2 at the Palais des Congrès from Sunday, 28 June through Thursday, 2 July 2009. Delegates can also store their luggage there.

Cash Machine

An ATM / cash machine is located on the entrance level next to the information desk of the Palais des Congrès.

Visa

The entry formalities for France vary according to the country of origin. Please address enquiries about entry and vaccination requirements to your travel agent or the local French consulate.

Letter of Invitation

The congress organisation will be pleased to send a formal letter of invitation to all registered delegates requesting an invitation letter for visa purposes. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from the congress to provide any financial support. Letters of invitation may be requested from the congress office no later than 01 June 2009. The letters will be sent by regular air mail. In case an express delivery is needed, the delegate shall order a courier at his/her own expense.
